Arusha National Park

Size of this Park

The park has a total area of 137 sq. km. and is only 37 km from Arusha. There are over 50 km of game viewing road/track in the Ngurdoto and Momella Sections of the park. However, to protect destruction of the Ngurdoto which is only 3 km in diameter, no road has been constructed into it. The crater can only be viewed from several sport established on the rim.

The major attractions:

Momella Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, Meru Crater, cone as well as the rare black an white colubus monkey. Animals to be found in the Part include also elephant, giraffe, buffalo, bush buck, red and forest dikes, waterbuck, hippo, warthog, red back, and dik dik. There are no lions in the Park. The Momella Lakes offer the best selection of earphone. Many northern bird migrants can be seen between May and October.

Accommodation can be provided at the Momella Game Lodge which is situated, a few meters outside the park’s boundary and close to the Momella Gate and Usa River or in Arushatown.
